Hi there,
is it possible (easy, or with detailed instructions) to migrate a Hubzilla hub to a streams instance? I have a hub which would better fit as streams.

Ok, I have thought this was posted into the @
Streams
group.

You cannot migrate the instance (the database is completely different) , but you can migrate any existing channels.

Thanks. Migrating an existing channel is using cloning, right? I do have a channel where this makes sense, but the other hub‘s FQDN is too good to give up.

Does that mean cloning between Hubzilla and Streams is out of the question?

I have tried cloning and got a 504 error. I see the channel is now on streams as well, but not all data is there. Does this take a while?

You can create a clone, but it is a one time operation intended as a migration from Hubzilla to streams. After that, these clones will not sync with each other because the data formats are radically different. I've tried to always provide a path for nomadic identities to upgrade and move forward. You can make Hubzilla backward compatible with streams if you want, but that's out of scope for what I'm doing.

I see. Thank you. This means, the cloning action does a onetime sync which then is a standalone channel in streams after that?
